Let's play a game! Do you use acrylics or watercolours (OR BOTH!) for your art?⠀

💙 I LOVE how watercolour paintings can look - when they are done skillfully they can be absolutely breath-taking. I love the effects you can create when you add the paint to wet paper, or when you mix two pigments together on a wet surface. I also think it's pretty cool that you can blot or use different materials (like salt) to create different textures. Plus there are countless ways you can mask certain areas.⠀

❤️ All that being said, I would choose acrylic paints over watercolours in a heartbeat because I have so much more experience working with them. To me, they are so much more forgiving and so easy to blend. I love the rich pigments, thickness and textures you can create by layering the paint on your canvas. It's also a plus that you can use acrylic paint on pretty much any surface. Who else likes painting on wood? 🙋⠀
